Dream #109
Dream #109
Binita Kafle was one of the children that lived in Camp Hope after the earthquake of 2015, the place we created in Kathmandu to host 350 people evacuated from their villages in the Himalayas.
She was always one of my best friends, despite being only 11 years at that time. She was bright, curious and her English fluency was well above the average, even considering the older inhabitants of the camp.
During the last decade we have provided a scholarship for her studies in Kathmandu, but when she became 19 and decided to go to the USA, we said: we are here for you and we will support you!!
Binita is now attending the second year of a Biology Bachelor at Wright University in Ohio. She continues to be a top student, so we decided to give her a scholarship for this year of 1500 €. Last year we had given 2000€, but this time, this was all we could afford.
It's still a very considerable amount, taking in consideration that usually, the scholarships we provided are around 300-500€. But she deserves and in her own words "this money will make a huge difference in her day to day life".
Thank you so much to Margarida Leal, who donated 500€ of this value and and also to FVP - Fundação Vox Populi, that donated the remaining amount, 1000€.
Good luck Binita, we are so proud of you!
