In December 2024, I was invited to give a conference at a Portuguese communication agency called Nossa. They are market leaders in their area, so from that point of view, it was a tremendous honor to speak for their team of collaborators.

In the last years I have been invited to speak in many companies and schools about the earthquake of Nepal, my climbing of Everest, the project 50 marathons in 50 days, amongst other subjects. It’s always a huge privilege to be part of these events. And I never ask anything in return. I have given more than fifty conferences in the last years, and I have never received any payment for it. I do it this way because I believe this is the right way to do it: in a volunteer basis.

But sometimes, companies and the audience like to donate for the several initiatives of Dreams of Kathmandu. They feel engaged and they really want to get involved! That’s exactly what happened with Nossa. During the conference, they proposed to buy 71 units of the book “Voces Voltam Amanhã?”, and this way I could use the sales funds to help one of the projects.

For each book I get a copyright of 5€, and I use 100% of those rights in fulfilling the needs of the children in Nepal. In other words, with the 71 books, I raised a total of 355€, which we decided to apply, me and Nossa, in the Sharadas Shelter for Children. Because it was winter, the temperatures in Kathmandu drop a lot and the kids of Sharadas were in urgent need of warm clothes.

Besides that, they also needed to buy some carpets for the bedrooms, because the old ones were totally destroyed! See that pictures below, and what did with this donation!
