Dream #103

Dream #103

Last year, I travelled to Nepal with my two brothers, Sergio and Miguel. It was the first time that both of them came to Kathmandu, and I was very excited to show them around, in particular all the work we have been doing at Dreams of Kathmandu during the last decade. There was so much to do in such a small period of of time, but one of the most important projects I wanted to show them was the Sharadas Shelter for Children, the orphanage we have been helping for almost 10 years.

As always, we were welcomed like family. The couple that runs the place, Milan and Sharadas, was at the gate and they greeted us with flowers, scarfs and tea. But the best was still to come, and when we saw the children they came running in our direction to hug us! I missed them so much, and look how grown they are!!

I introduced them to my brothers, and all together, we spent an amazing morning. We spoke about their studies and future dreams. They are very curious children, and so they also asked us a lot of questions. There was magic in the air, and I could feel everyone was really happy and bounding with each other.

During recent years, the project Dreams of Kathmandu has been providing food, clothes and education to all these children. It's a very hard task because the average annual expenses with the orphanage are around 10.000€. It's a huge challenge because every year we must find new donations to cover these expenses.

Regarding the food for 2025, we found a solution! My brother Miguel really connected with the kids and decided to pay the meals for a whole year: 150€ per month, or 1800€ annually! This was a miracle, thank you so much Miguel for your generosity! You have made these kids more happy and healthy.
