PROJECT X - STAGE 4
PROJECT X - STAGE 4
On May 29th,
1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa became the first men to reach
the top of Everest, the highest mountain in the world. And for 20 years that
day has been celebrated in the Himalayas with a very special competition. A
test of the endurance to the human spirit. The Hillary-Tenzing Marathon or as
it is better known, the Everest Marathon.
It is the
highest marathon in the world. 42 kilometres run between Everest Base Camp and
the village of Namche Bazar. At these altitudes, with sub-zero temperatures and
the absence of oxygen, the difficulties are extreme. Just getting to 5364
meters on Base Camp is quite an achievement, let alone running 42 kilometres.
In the last 5 months I trained very hard and totally focused on this goal. Finally,
I decided to sign up for the competition and join the passion for athletics and
mountaineering to run this great marathon on the 29th May 2023.
All in the
name of a dream.
The dream
of overcoming obstacles and continue to help the children of Nepal through the project
Dreams of Kathmandu. With this great adventure, I will try to raise €5,000 to
pay for 10,000 meals for Nepalese children who have almost nothing. Children
like our children who beg in the streets, and many who go to bed every night with
an empty stomach. I have come to know that some eat rats to survive. It is
revolting.
The aim of
this campaign is to make a small difference in the lives of these children and
provide them with food for about three months. A total of 300 daily meals. I'm
also trying to negotiate other type support, so that we can provide a more
sustainable help to these kids, namely in the field of education. I promise some
future news in this subject.
Each meal
costs €0.50, including transport and all the necessary infrastructure. Not just
the food ingredients, but also the cooking gas, oil, cutlery, amongst others.
Everything is ready to kick off with this humanitarian operation in the streets
of Kathmandu! All will be done in partnership with one of our local partners - Rainbow
Volunteer Club.
100% of
donations will go directly to the project and everything will be reported on
social media in my personal pages of Facebook and Instagram. Thank you all for
your support. Together we can make a difference in the world around us.
