Dream #78
Samir
Bista, 17 years old, is one of the many children we have been supporting since
2017, the same year that our project Dreams of Kathmandu was born. And not only
in his education. Last year we also provided him and his family with a new
house! We fundraised, we planned, we bought the materials, and we did it! You
can see all the information regarding that project in Dream 73.
I remind
you all that his previous house was destroyed during the earthquake.
For the
school year of 2023-2024 we will continue to support his education on Hill Top
Secondary School, the same one he has been attending these last years close to
his house in the village of Bistagaon, south of Kathmandu. He is now going to
11th grade, and we are very proud to see that he has improved his
marks since last year. In the Nepal grading he finished with a final average of
3.25 out 4. The results can be seen below.
Once again,
our friend and donator, Filipe Videira from Portugal will support his
scholarship with a total value of 350€. Thank you, Filipe, for always being on
that side. On top of that, we are very proud to announce that we are going to
offer Samir a brand-new laptop so that he can follow his dream of having a
career in the IT world. The cost of the laptop and a bag for it was 510€.
The donator
for this amazing gift will be the Dawa Sherpa Foundation. They approached us
through her director, Maritée Onderdenwijngaard from the Netherlands. We have
worked before with Maritee in several occasions and she has helped our projects
and Nepal in many many situations. Thank you again so much for your support.
With this gesture you are truly making a difference in the future life of
Samir.
All the
invoices and pictures of both these expenses can be found below. All of this is
only possible because of the involvement and generosity of everyone. Thank you
to everyone who gets involved and let’s keep up with the good work!
