Dream #72

In Dream 72 we have a simple and beautiful story to tell.

Some months ago, in the beginning of 2022, I received a phone call from Rui Colaço, a portuguese young man that wanted to get involved in our projects of Dreams of Kathmandu.

We spoke through messages three or four times, we made a plan, and another dream started becoming a reality!

Basically Rui wanted to travel to Nepal with his sister Margarida, live an adventure in a motorbike and fundraise for one of our projects.

And that's exactly what happened! Last May they travelled through Nepal in a motorbike during two weeks and they managed to fundraise 520€ with their community of friends and family.

With that fund we were able to cover a huge need that Sharadas Shelter Center and its 14 children had for a long time: a new fridge to store their food and vegetables!

Look at the pictures below and see all the magic that Rui and Margarida did! They did everything from collecting the funds to buying the fridge themselves! And with the remaining money from the donations they bought a LOT of food and filled the fridge with supplies for many weeks.

We are so happy and proud with this story because it represents EXACTLY what Dreams of Kathmandu is: a project where everyone can get involved, take ownership and make things happen from beginning to end. Thank you Rui and Margarida for your bug heart and courage.
