Dream #65

Dream #65

We met Samir Bista almost 7 years ago.

He was 9 years old at that time and his house in the village of Bistagaon, was destroyed by the earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015. From that moment a very strong bound and friendship has grown between us. We speak on the phone many times and despite the fact that we are far, we have become very close friends.

Samir's family are very poor and his parents are farmers. But they are honest and good people. And this is why we help him. Because he is simple boy that deserves an opportunity. We believe that his future depends on his education and this is the best way we can be there for him.

That's why we are so proud that we have been able to help in his education for the last 4 years. Through the project Dreams of Kathmandu, it has been possible to pay a scholarship to Samir, including school uniform, tuition fees and transportation to school. This year, his scholaship fee also includes a field trip to Pokhara.

Filipe Videira, our Portuguese friend, has been responsible for supporting Samir for the last three years and this year his contribution for Samir’s scholarship was 370 €. Thank you so much Filipe, you are one of the biggest supporters of our project since the Day 1. And if there is someone who deserves this support, it is Samir.

Get involved and support our projects in Dreams of Kathmandu! You just have to send us a message to pedro_queiros@hotmail.com or ghazalvaziri@gmail.com. Thank you so much!
