Dream #51
Dream #51
She was my
first friend at Camp Hope, 6 years ago in Kathmandu.
At the
time, she was 16 and I was 33. In that first night of Camp Hope things were not
easy and the Nepalese people that I have just met were tired and dirty. They
had just lost their houses due to the earthquake and the trauma was still
present. So, this first meal for the 350 inhabitants of Camp Hope was so
important!! And me and Sneha Sherpa were the ones responsible for making the
list of the people who were going to have dinner that first night in the camp.
Today Sneha
Sherpa is already 22 years old, and she has all the dreams in the world. She
works and studies at the same time, and still has time to have this beautiful
smile.
And this
year, through our project Dreams of Kathmandu, it was possible to pay for
Sneha's studies in the first year of a Business Management Bachelor's degree at
the Samata School in Kathmandu.
The total
value of the scholarship was 875 € and the donor was João Hipólito Raposo, who
also spent several months in Nepal volunteering, and ended up becoming a great
friend of Sneha. Thank you João for always being there for us and for the Nepalese
children.
And this is
how we make things happen on the project Dreams of Kathmandu. From beginning to
the end. With courage and honesty.
Thank you
all for supporting and we will continue to make more dreams happen! Contact us
