Dream #46

Dream #46

It was around Christmas time. Upon knowing that many children in Nepal did not have the means to attend classes online, Pilar Bilbao, 11, daughter of our dear friend Tiago Bilbao, decided to donate € 100 so that two sisters, Durga and Shreejana, could buy a tablet and attend classes via the internet.

But Pilar was not satisfied yet.

So, she spoke to her father, Tiago, so that he could donate two more tablets, about 200 €, so that 14 children from the Sharadas orphanage in Kathmandu, could also attend classes online.

But Pilar still was not satisfied.

So, she picked up the phone, and started calling friends of her parents and family, so they could contribute to buying more tablets. I talked to the father Tiago at some point, and he mentioned that they might be able to donate 6 more tablets. We were wrong. Pilar raised funds for 12 more tablets, about 1200 €!!! These tablets will help dozens of children in Nepal because many have group classes with the same device!!!

But guess what? Pilar was still not satisfied.

And when she heard that a school in the Khumbu valley, right in the shadow of Everest and the Himalayas, was in need of a computer for children to learn how to work with new technologies and Office, (very important in the CV for children in Nepal ), she picked up the phone again and got another € 220 to buy a computer !!!

And now yes, Pilar was satisfied!

After raising € 1727.50 that allowed the purchase of 15 tablets and 1 computer!! See all the pictures below. I guess they speak for themselves. Some children even wrote letters. It is gratifying and exciting to see all of this.

Because of Pilar, the world suddenly became a better place. For a moment we, Pedro and Ghazal, wanted to be Pilar. We want our son to have Pilar's heart. It was just unbelievable. Thank you Pilar, for helping our children in the Dreams of Kathmandu project!

And also, a big thanks to all the donors who helped Pilar, the list and all the invoices are showed below. And a huge thanks to Edward Turner, since he was the one who organized the whole process on the ground of Kathmandu, from the purchase to the distribution of the tablets and the computer. Without him, none of this would be possible.
