Dream #30
Dream #30
This is the second year in a row that we are gonna support the studies of Sameer Bista, one of the many boys from Nepal that lost his house in the earthquake of 2015. But despite all the tragedy, guess what? He is always smiling and happy!
The first year that we gave him a scholarship was in 2018. At that time we presented it in Dream #16. You can follow his story in the link https://dreamsofkathmandu.blogspot.com/2019/02/dream-16.html
Sameer had good grades on his first year, and now with 14 years old, he is growing and becoming a man. He speaks good english and he loves stories about Everest and mountain climbing. In the future he would like to be a military on the Nepal army. Maybe he is the only kid in Nepal that doesn't want to be a football player! We are so proud of him! He is such a good boy and he loves to study, making sports and help his family in the field or house work.
One of the foundations of our project Dreams of Kathmandu is sustainability. To come back to Nepal year after year and support the children and the people in need. Sameer is a good example of this principle. We want to be next to him and his family until he reaches majority. Until he completes his education. This is our mission. We will not give up on it. You can count on us Sameer!
This year, his full scholarship was 390€. That includes school fees, materials, uniform and books. And as you can see in these pictures, we are helping Sameer by being present and using the funds ourselves. We went to the school, spoke to the teachers and paid the fees. And after that we went to measure him, make his uniform and buy his books! We are there in every moment, making sure that Sameer gets the best and all the funds are well used.
It's been now almost 5 years since we, Pedro and Ghazal, are helping Nepal. But this help would not be possible without certain people that trust us and support us no matter what. Filipe Videira is one of those persons. In the difficult moments, when it most matters, Filipe always says: "I'm here and I want to help!" Thank you Filipe! You are a true angel. Thank you a million times from us and from Sameer. Thanks to you he can have hope and dreams… Dreams of Kathmandu!
