Activity Report Year #2

Happy Birthday Dreams of Kathmandu!!

We are now in the second year of this project and very proud to present our activity report. Transparency is one of our main values and we will always show where the funds come from and where they are applied. And the most important NOTE of course: 100% of the donations goes directly to the people in need and we apply the funds ourselves. This is not negotiable!

The key figures of the this last year of activity are presented on the table below. We have made 11 dreams happening by applying 12.656 €. We estimated to have impacted the lives of 111 people.

In year 2 of our Project Dreams of Kathmandu, we have managed to continue fundraising and helping our friends in Nepal. We mean truly helping. Making a difference where is most needed. Talking to the people in the eyes and understanding the real problems. This is our methodology and it will not change in the future.

This year we gave a big focus in supporting the projects of Sharadas Shelter (15 Children), and Thaiba Shelter (8 Children). These two places have huge needs and the work is far from being completed. We still need funds for groceries, health, rent and most of all education. In the future, we want to continue supporting these children and go all the way with them until university. The work with this two projects, would not be possible without the support of Organization Nepali Child, runned by Edward Turner and Matt Norley. Thank you guys, you are an inspiration.

On the other hand, we are still supporting children from the old Camp Hope and the village of Bistagaon. For year 3, we are gonna reinforce the support to the children of Camp Hope, especially in the area of education.

This year we also had our first experience of volunteers. Luis Ferreira and Andreia Nogueira from Portugal, spent two weeks in Sharadas Shelter Center, and the experience was a big success. Besides helping Milan and Sharadas with the daily routines they helped where is most needed: changing the mentalities of these kids and launching new seeds in their heads. Thank you guys, what an amazing job you did!

The campaign Every Kid Deserves a Home was a huge success and in April 2019, by climbing a mountain in Nepal, we managed to fundraise 4500€. Also amazing was the journey of Pedro Bento, the man who went in a bicycle from Portugal to Nepal and fundraised 1500€ for the scholarships of Mingmar and Tenzing Sherpa.

And let's not forget the school CEBE in Lisbon who did a solidary walk and fundraised 284€. Or the amazing support Filipe Pereira Arouca gave to Sonam Sherpa in Portugal. We are surrounded by these extraordinary examples. Thank you so much for your help guys.

Recently we have also received a donation of 7.000€ from Fundação Vox Populi, a portuguese organization that believes in us and our work, We are gonna make everything to justify this trust and confidence.

Last but not least, a BIG and HUGE thank you to our angels, the ones who support behind the curtain and give us the real strength to continue and not have doubts of what we are doing: Isabel Vitória, Laura Xavier, Filipe Videira, Fátima Queirós and Cristiana Rodrigues.

We are not gonna stop. The project is growing in the number of supporters and we, Pedro and Ghazal, will continue to assume this huge responsibility with joy, respect and hard work. This is our promise. Get involved and contact us in pedro_queiros@hotmail.com and ghazalvaziri@gmail.com.
