Dream #95

Dream #95

Rainbow Volunteer Club is a Nepalese charity run by Madan Poudeyal. A small organization based on the outskirts of Kathmandu, with whom we have done, during the last decade extraordinary work on several fronts.

You will probably remember that in recent years, with your donations, we have delivered thousands of meals to disadvantaged children through the No Hunger program. Also, we have work together in the program to fight gender inequality called BLING – Bring Light Into Girls. All these initiatives have an immense value, and are very hard to implement in such a poor and hard context like Nepal.

In the education area, we have helped Rainbow Club with hundreds of backpacks, school supplies, computers, and payment of tutors. This rents a building that receives a hundred children EVERY day before and after school. Parents that live nearby, usually work day and night, and have nowhere to leave their children. This is where they study, rest and eat a meal. The place is magical!

Recently, the rent and other operating costs of the place have increased substantially. And the landlord, like all landlords on the face of the Earth, gave an ultimatum to vacate the premises by the end of May 2024.

So, we decided that Dreams of Kathmandu will help with a donation of €3482 for the rent costs. This amount ensures the continuity and operation of the institution until 2031. The origins of these funds are the funds that were collected with the project 50 Marathons in 50 Days, that I did in Japan last year.

In other words, thanks to generosity of many people, one hundred children will have a space where they can receive comfort, food and education on a daily basis, for the next seven years.

Thank you all for your help and commitment to these projects. I believe in this path. I believe in continuing to make a difference in the future. For my part, I propose to continue running for these children.
