Dream #92

Dream #92

Tenzing Sherpa is someone that we know very well.

We actually know him for 10 years now, since the establishment of Camp Hope in Kathmandu, right after the major earthquake that destroyed Nepal in 2015. Camp Hope was a magical place, where 350 displaced people found a beacon of hope, and a chance to restart their lives after the tragedy. Amongst those people, there were one hundred children and Tenzing was one of them.

Back then he was 7 years old, and we have been supporting his education ever since. He has always been a happy child. His dream is to be an artist and he actually draws very well.

Now he has grown to be a fine young man. He is 17 years old and we couldn't be more proud of him. He is attending 11th grade at Samata School, but he also works in a restaurant, in order to support his expenses. A regular day in the life of Tenzing will be like this:

- 5 Am: Waking up,
- 6 Am to 10 Am: School
- 10.30 Am to 8 Pm: Work in Restaurant.

The next day he does it all over again. For six days of the week this is his routine, he only rests on saturday. Simply inspiring!

This year, besides supporting his studies with a scholarship of 400€ provided by the portuguese donator Maria Lucas, we are also gonna support Tenzing with some funds to help him rent a small room in Kathmandu. Tenzing has no family in the capital, and he needs a place to live. The room he rented is very humble, but Tenzing says it's all he needs... Again, we couldn't be more proud of him.

The help for the rent will also be 400€, and it will be supported by Vitor Pereira, another portuguese friend of the project Dreams of Kathmandu.

Thank you so much Maria Lucas. Thank you so much Vitor Pereira. And thank you so much to all of you who keep supporting and believing in this project.
